Funeral services for Mrs. Edith Pauline “Polly” Fisher, 89 of Cookeville and formerly of Cherokee, NC, were held Wednesday, November 11 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Tom McCulley and Chaplain Melinda Bilbrey officiating.

Joyce Ann Smith

Joyce Ann Smith, 62, of Bryson City passed away on November 8, 2020.  She was born on October 25, 1958 in Swain County to the late Alex and Glenna Kirkland. Joyce never met a stranger and was considered a mother by many people.  She loved camping and fishing.

Therese McHan Rooks

Therese McHan Rooks, age 59, went to join her Heavenly Father in her mansion in the sky on Tuesday, November 10, 2020. Therese was a graduate of Swain County High School and Western Carolina University, a long-time employee at Walmart and a faithful member of Deep Creek Baptist Church.

George L. Rosario Sr. Nickname (Karate) given to him by his Mother-in-law Nellie, died peacefully at home. George, who was 70 years old, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020. He was a member of the Cherokee Baptist Church. He lived in the Paintown Community most of his life.

Paul Richard Jacobsen, age 90, of Silver Spring, MD and most recently, Bryson City, NC, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2020. He was the husband of the late Nancy Jacobsen and the son of the late Winfred and Edna Jacobsen. He spent his career working with the American Red Cross.

Mildred McGaha Arvey Cope

Mildred McGaha Arvey Cope, 90, of Candler, NC went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 after a short illness with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Don and Prince McGaha of Bryson City and grew up on Alarka.

Julie Wilkerson Townsend, age 59, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 29th, 2020, with her husband, sister, and Colonel the cat by her side. Julie was born Julie Ann Wilkerson on April 19th, 1961 to Joe and Sally Wilkerson in Knoxville, Tennessee.

After years of struggling with dementia, Ann Fox Casada completed her earthly journey on October 29. A native of Chatham, VA, she was born on June 6, 1945, to the late Lucy and Earnest Fox. In 1963 she graduated from Chatham High School as class salutatorian and in 1967 completed her B.S.

Charles (Charlie) Everett Wolfe

Charles (Charlie) Everett Wolfe, 63, of the Big Cove Community went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 30, 2020. A native of Cherokee he was the son of the late James (Lobo) and Ida Sequoyah Wolfe.
