Edgar Lee Kirkland, 64, of the Laurel Branch community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 25, 2020. A native of Swain County, he was the son of Annie Crowder Kirkland of Bryson City and the late Lee Kirkland. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

William “Bill” Patton Sr.

William “Bill” Patton Sr., age 93 of Bryson City, NC, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020. He was the husband of Harriet Patton and the son of the late Judson Patton and Lillian Barnett. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Bryson City, NC. He was retired from Odom’s Tennessee Pride.

Lou Mae Breedlove Ayers

Lou Mae Breedlove Ayers, 84, of the Maple Springs community of Bryson  City, went home to be with her Lord Thursday, October 22, 2020 at Mission hospital after a period of declining health.

Elevinio Albert Chavez Jr.

Elevinio Albert Chavez Jr., 54, of Bryson City passed away Sunday, October 11, 2020 at his residence. He was the son of Albert and Lucy Chavez. He was a US Army and Navy Veteran. Elevinio was preceded in death by his brother, David Chavez.

Edward E. Bain III

Edward E. Bain III of Powder Springs, GA passed away September 27,2020. He is survived by his wife, Sue Bain,  Daughter Keener Hazard and granddaughters  Sarah and Emily Hazard of Douglasville, GA .

Cecil Sutton

Cecil Sutton, 84, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Saturday, October 17, 2020. A native of Jackson County and longtime resident of Swain County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Julie Sutton.

Jerry Andrew Nations

Jerry Andrew Nations passed away after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, October 13 at the Charles George Medical Center in Asheville, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents Ed and Alma Nations, a sister Peggy Nations and a brother Tony Nations.

Shirley Hutton

Shirley Hutton, 83, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Tuesday October 13, 2020. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Chester Hampton and Lillice Hyde.

Reuban Ball Jr.

Reuban Ball Jr. 71 of Bryson City passed away October 7, 2020. A native of Swain County he was the son of the late Reuben Ball Sr. and Carrie LeQuire Ball. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a son Brian Ball.

James Harold Cook

James Harold Cook, 81, of Bryson City, went to be with the Lord on October 7, 2020. He was born in Jackson County, North Carolina on January 7, 1939 to the late Robert Lee and Hattie Lee Cook.  Mr. Cook worked as a logger most of his life.
