Nancy Passmore Watson, 84, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Friday September 18, 2020. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Elisha and Fannie Kirkland Passmore.

Mary Evelyn Nichols  peacefully passed away at the age of 97.  A life well lived can best be measured by the number of lives one has changed in a positive way. Because of the generous life Mary lived , it would be hard to tell the countless lives Mary influenced.

Marie Cochran, 84, of the Alarka Community went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, September 16, 2020. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late W.S. and Flora Southards McMahan.

Johnny Michael McCarter

Johnny Michael McCarter, age 85 of Barnesville, Georgia passed away at home Thursday, September 10, 2020. John was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Emory Law School and practiced law in Georgia over 50 years.

Georgia Lee Hampton Sutton

Georgia Lee Hampton Sutton, 90, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord and her family on Saturday September 12, 2020. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late James Doyle and Mellie Mae Bates Hampton.

Gregory Olin Crisp

Gregory Olin Crisp went home to be with the Lord on September 11, 2020. He was 59 years old. A lifelong resident of Swain County, Greg was a graduate of Denver Automotive and Diesel College in Denver, CO. He has been the owner of Performance Automotive serving his loyal customers for 32 years.

Roy Bailey

Roy Bailey, 80, of the Stecoah Community, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Vergie Bailey.

Gary Dean (Boots) Smith

Gary Dean (Boots) Smith, 64, passed away unexpectedly in his home on August 18, 2020.  A lifelong resident of Cherokee, North Carolina, he loved gardening and the outdoors. Boots is the son of the late Fancheon L. (Snook) Elders of Wildwood, Florida.

Yvonne Crisp

Yvonne Crisp, 55, of Bryson City passed away on August 23, 2020. She was born in Charlotte, North Carolina to the late Lance and Edna Mae Crisp. She is survived by one sister, Evette Howell; one brother, Lance Crisp, one niece, Katie Howell; one nephew, Chris Smith; one great nephew C.J.

Mellis Richard “Skip” Meyers

WHITTIER – Mellis Richard “Skip” Meyers (80) passed away peacefully at his home in Whittier, NC after a lengthy battle with Congestive Heart Failure and Mesothelioma.  His wife of 40 years and one of his daughters were by his side.
