On October 3, 2020, Mr. Dixie Dean Wiggins, age 85, passed away after a short decline in his health. Dixie grew up in Thomson, Georgia, and received his education at Emory University.

Beulah Shuler Wiggins, 90, of Candler and formerly of the Coopers Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 7, 2020. She was the daughter of the late H.W. and Laura Wiggins Shuler.

Leonard Frady, 75, of Bryson City, NC born November 2, 1944, passed away Thursday October 8, 2020. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Ause Frady and Ima Jean Frady.

Richard Warburton Matthes

Mr. Matthes passed away on Monday, October 5, 2020 at his home due to complications of Parkinson’s Disease. He was born on January 2.5, 1938 to Roland & Edith Croft Matthes.

Michael William Hatcher

Michael William Hatcher, 64, of Bryson City passed away on October 4, 2020. He was born on June 17, 1956 in Miami, Florida to the late Timothy and Doris Hatcher. Michael served in the United States Navy and worked as a mechanic his whole life.

Troy Lee Whiteside Jr.

Troy Lee Whiteside Jr. of Bryson City, NC was  born April 7, 1935. He died September 22, 2020 at home after an extended illness.

James “Bo” Parris of the Big Cove community in Cherokee walked through Heaven’s Gates on Monday, September 21, 2020. Bo was born in Tryon, Georgia on January 8, 1935.

Geraldean Elizabeth (Ward) Webb

Geraldean Elizabeth (Ward) Webb, 66, of the Cooper’s Creek community in Bryson City received her glorified body Sunday, September 20, 2020. She was born on October 2, 1953 to the late David Ellis Ward and Mary Alma (Green) Ward.

Thomas Brownlow Parton (Buck)

Thomas Brownlow Parton (Buck), 86, of Whittier, NC passed away on September 7, 2020. He was born in Swain County on July 4, 1934 to the late Woodrow and Verna Mae Parton. He is survived by his loving wife of eighteen years, Alex Parton. Parton believed in God and loved Him very much.

Mildred “Mamaw” Burns

Mildred “Mamaw” Burns, 86, went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2020. Mildred was born in Swain County on June 6, 1934 to the late Carl and Maude Fox. She was known to many as the face of Papa’s Pizza To Go, where she was the manager for many years.
