The Maroon Devils Men's Soccer Team hosted the Murphy Bulldogs on Wednesday in the conference opener for both teams. Just 14 minutes into the game the Devils would get on the scoreboard first when senior Zachary Cline would find sophomore Landon Matz for the goal.

Swain County High School varsity football season normally begins under the song of summer cicadas and ends with the smell of late fall wood smoke calling the boys inside for the winter. This year will be different. Preseason cold towels have been swapped for mittens.

The Maroon Devils Men’s Soccer Team kicked off their regular season on Wednesday, Jan. 27 hosting the Franklin Panthers in non-conference action. It was the season opener for both teams.

The Swain County High School varsity girls basketball team dropped both contests last week, but junior Mazie Helpman notched her 1,000th career point during the Lady Devils’ 64-52 loss at Cherokee. “It’s a credit to how much work she has put in from the beginning,” said Head Coach Michael Turner.
