Clifford Ball, 82, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 28, 2022. A native of Swain County, he was the son of the late Frank and Eddie Wiggins Ball and husband of the late Stella Ball. He was the last of a long line of brothers and sisters.

Carroll James Parker

Carroll James Parker, 83, of the Wolfetown Community in Cherokee, NC went home to be with the Lord Friday, March 4, 2022. A native of Cherokee he was the son of the late Benjamin and Flora Lambert Parker.

Kathy Henderson Byrd

Kathy Henderson Byrd, 73, of Whittier went home to be with the Lord Monday, February 28, 2022. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Mildred Henderson.

Barbara Higdon Burnette

Barbara Higdon Burnett, 74, of the Brush Creek Community, in Bryson City, NC went home to be with the Lord Saturday, March 5, 2022. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Marshall and Ann Nations Higdon.

Thomas Buttler Powell

Thomas Buttler Powell, 69, passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jasper Newton Powell, Sr., and Aretas Powell. He was a US Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War for the 101st Airborne division where he was awarded the Purple Heart.

Clint C. Carson Jr (Bap), 78, of West Jenkins Branch went home at 7:23 AM Monday, February 28, 2022. A native of Hampton VA, and longtime resident of Bryson City, he was the son of the late Clint C. Carson Sr. and Ethel Keener Carson.

Drama Collins Watkins, 74, of Bryson City went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at home after a long illness. She was born January 18, 1948 to John Henry Collins and Chinara Millsaps.

Ruby Cook Medford, 90, of the Deep Creek Community went home to be with the Lord Sunday, February 20, 2022. A native of Swain County she was the daughter of the late Claude and Lillie Mae Cook.

Shirley Swayney Cloer

Shirley Swayney Cloer, 67, of Bryson City left this world for a better place Saturday, February 19, 2022. A native of Swain County, she was the daughter of the late David and Katie Swayney. She was a loving mother and devoted her life to the students of Swain County.

David L. Horn, 75, of Bryson City passed away Monday, February 14, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard L. and Cathrine P. Horn. David is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn F.
